Several different varieties of pear are grafted onto one single stem to create a unique, self-pollinating tree. Fruit types and ripening times will vary depending on the types of pear tree grafts used. Pear trees have large, showy, white spring blooms and glossy, green foliage that turns into beautiful shades of orange to burgundy or purple in fall. Pear fruit can be used for processing and several varieties are good for fresh eating. Prefers moist, well-drained soil. Fertilize in spring with a good compost or an all-purpose fertilizer before new growth emerges. For major pruning wait until late winter while tree is dormant; suckers or dead, broken, and diseased branches, can be removed anytime. Prune while young to create open centered branching to allow for even sunlight which results in better ripening of fruit and good air circulation.
Self-pollinating; doesn’t require another variety of pear tree to cross pollinate because it has multiple different varieties grafted onto one tree.
Available in select potted sizes.
