Prunus x kerrasis ‘Cupid’
Fruit: Cherry
| Height: 6-10′ | Width: 4-6′ |
| Sun: Full Sun | Zone: 3 |
Small, rounded, vigorous and hardy cherry tree. Clusters of lightly fragrant, showy, white, spring blossoms appear before glossy, dark-green foliage that matures to yellow in fall. Large, dark-red to black, sweet-tart fruit with purple flesh and a hard pit. Good for fresh eating, great for processing (canning, freezing, cooking, pies, etc.). Fruit ripens late summer to early fall. Low suckering habit. Romance series. Excellent for small yards. Prefers moist, well-drained soil. Fertilize in spring with a good compost or an all-purpose fertilizer before new growth emerges. Not much pruning is necessary, if needed, prune in late winter while tree is dormant; suckers or dead, broken, and diseased branches, can be removed anytime.
Self-pollinating.
Available in select potted sizes.
