Small, rounded, hardy apple tree. Lightly scented, white spring flowers and pointy green foliage that matures to yellow in fall. Bright red with hints of green fruit that is 2.5″ in size; crisp, sweet, juicy, white flesh that is good for fresh eating, fair for cooking, and has a good storage life of 2-3 months. Ripens mid September. Needs well-drained soil but tolerates many other soil types. Fertilize in spring with a good compost or an all-purpose fertilizer before new growth emerges. For major pruning wait until late winter while tree is dormant; suckers or dead, broken, and diseased branches, can be removed anytime. Prune while young to create open centered branching to allow for even sunlight which results in better ripening of fruit and good air circulation.
Requires another variety of apple tree within 500′ for cross-pollination (approximately one city block).
Available in select potted and caliper sizes.
