Combination Apple
Malus
Fruit: Apple
| Height: 10-16′ | Width: 10-16′ |
| Sun: Full Sun | Zone: 3 |
Several different varieties of apples are grafted
onto one single stem to create a unique, self-pollinating tree. Fruit types and ripening times will vary depending on the types of apple tree grafts used. Needs well-drained soil but tolerates many other soil types. Fertilize in spring with a good compost or an all-purpose fertilizer before new growth emerges. For major pruning wait until late winter while tree is dormant; suckers or dead, broken, and diseased branches, can be removed anytime. Prune when young, being careful not to take out a whole grafted branch and losing an apple type, to create open centered branching to allow for even sunlight which results in better ripening of fruit and good air circulation.
Self-pollinating; doesn’t require another variety of apple tree to cross pollinate because it has multiple different varieties grafted onto one tree.
Available in select potted sizes.
