Rounded, suckering shrub with fruit that is a nutritionally rich, antioxidant superfood with many health benefits. Green, long foliage and lilac-purple, trumpet-shaped blooms in early summer that ripen into small, bright, red-orange berries from late summer until frost. Soft fruit that has a sweet-sour taste and can be eaten fresh, baked and cooked. Also called Chinese Wolfberry. Prefers well-drained soil that is slightly alkaline; can handle nutritionally poor soil and does not require much compost or fertilizer. Goji berry flowers on new wood: prune in late winter/early spring while shrub is dormant to control size of plant and encourage new growth.
Self-pollinating.
Available in select potted sizes.
