Thuja occidentalis ‘Hetz Midget’

Evergreen: Globe Cedar

Height: 2-2.5′ Width: 3-3.5′
Sun: Part to Full Shade Zone: 3

Dwarf, dense, globe-shaped cedar with rich green, flattened, scale-like foliage. Slow-growing; requires no pruning to maintain shape. Excellent low hedge or foundation and border plant in shady areas. In Southern Alberta Cedars require a spot with no exposure to drying northwest wind and southwest sun. Mulching around base will help retain moisture in summer. Heavy watering in fall a few weeks before freeze-up will prevent roots being damaged from cold, dry soil and minimize winter browning. Prefers moist to wet, fertile, well-drained soil. Fertilize in spring with a good compost or all purpose fertilizer before new growth emerges. Requires no pruning but if desired can be sheared while new growth is actively growing in spring and before it has started to harden off.

Available in select potted sizes.
