Very dense, compact, pyramidal evergreen with dark green needles in bundles of 2. Slow growing Mugo Pine that is thickly branched and has a single trunk with showy buds in winter. Great low-maintenance specimen evergreen, used in foundations or in rock gardens. Prefers well-drained soil but is tolerant of most soils and drought once established. Fertilize in spring with a good compost or all purpose fertilizer before new growth emerges. Requires little to no pruning, if needed, heavy pruning should be done before new growth emerges in late winter/early spring; dead or broken branches can be removed as needed.
