An open, somewhat irregular shaped evergreen with curved branches and light green, bright needles. Curved pine cones and reddish-brown to grey bark with loose scales. Very hardy, tough tree that is drought tolerant once established in moist, well-drained soil. Does well in dry, sandy sites as well. Fertilize in spring with a good compost or all purpose fertilizer before new growth emerges. Pruning: candles (new growth) can be pinched back while actively growing to create a more compact growth habit. Heavy pruning should be done in late winter/early spring before new growth emerges, dead or broken branches can be removed as needed.
Available in select potted sizes.
