Top-grafted form of Globe Blue Spruce. Dwarf, globe-shaped spruce that has been grafted onto a stem to create a small accent tree. A rounded shape and short, intensely silver-blue needles. Dense needles hold their colour well and are very ornamental. Very hardy, slow-growing evergreen that makes an excellent specimen or accent plant. Prefers slightly acidic, moist, well-drained soil and is drought and wind tolerant once established (do not let stand in water). Fertilize in spring with a good compost or all purpose fertilizer before new growth emerges. Little pruning needed: prune broken or dead branches as needed, heavy pruning should be done late winter/early spring before new growth emerges. Pinch out any upright growing shoots to maintain rounded shape. Can be sheared for a more formal look while actively growing in early summer by trimming back the new growth by one-third.
Available in select potted sizes.
