Nest-shaped, dwarf evergreen with dense, flat-topped, layered branches. Short needles emerge bright green and mature to a lighter green. Hardy, low-maintenance, slow-growing shrub that makes a great evergreen accent for the border or in rock gardens. Prefers moist, well-drained soil: tolerates salt once established. Fertilize in spring with a good compost or an all purpose fertilizer before new growth emerges. Requires little or no pruning: if desired, new growth can be sheared back lightly while actively growing, dead and broken branches can be removed anytime.
