A deciduous conifer with a broad pyramidal shape. Soft, light green needles emerge in spring and mature to golden yellow in fall before dropping for winter. Upward-arching branches with many small cones and rough, gray bark. Moderately fast growing and very hardy. If needed, train to grow a central leader for a more upright growth habit. Great large specimen tree or used in mass plantings. Prefers moist, well-drained soil and is drought and Chinook tolerant once established. Fertilize in spring with a good compost or all purpose fertilizer before new growth emerges. Requires little pruning; prune as needed while dormant in late winter/early spring before new growth emerges. Dead and broken branches can be removed anytime.
Available in select potted and caliper sizes.
