Tree: Maple

Very hardy, fast growing maple with a large, irregular growing canopy. Smooth, grey-brown bark and compound leaves that are bright green, maturing to yellow in fall. Excellent shade or shelterbelt tree. Very adaptable to different soil types, tolerant of drought and wet sites alike. Fertilize in spring with a good compost or all purpose fertilizer before new growth emerges. Prune as necessary only when tree is in full-leaf, about beginning of July.
