Small, graceful tree with glossy-green, lobed foliage that turns a brilliant orange to scarlet-red in fall. Small, yellow spring blooms. Good as a small specimen tree. Prefers acidic, well-drained soil. Very hardy and drought tolerant once established. Fertilize in spring with a good compost or all purpose fertilizer before new growth emerges. Prune as necessary only when tree is in full-leaf, about beginning of July.
