Very showy plant with maple leaf shaped foliage that emerges bright red, matures to chartreuse for the season, then followed by golden yellow in fall. White, lace-cap blooms in spring mature to edible red berries in summer that persist into winter. Fruit attracts birds. Attractive, hardy plant that is a great specimen shrub for large areas, in the border, or used as hedging. Prefers moist, well-drained soil. Fertilize in spring with an all purpose fertilizer before new growth emerges. Little pruning needed, can be pruned to shape as needed immediately after flowering to
prune after flowering to allow next years flower buds to set.
