Tiny Wine Ninebark

Physocarpus opulifolius ‘SMPOTW’

Shrub: Ninebark

Height: 3-4′ Width: 3-4′
Sun: Full to Part Sun Zone: 3

Upright, compact shrub with dark bronze-maroon, small, serrated foliage. Clusters of button-like, white flowers all along the branches in late spring emerge from pink flower buds. Showy red seed capsules in fall and peeling bark that adds winter interest. A very bushy shrub that is great as a colour contrast plant. Best foliage colour in full sun. Tolerant of a wide variety of soil conditions; is drought tolerant once established. Fertilize in spring with a good compost or an all purpose fertilizer before new growth emerges. Flowers on old wood: prune after flowering to maintain shape. To rejuvenate an old plant, cut back strongly in late winter/early spring.

Available in select potted sizes.
