Large, irregular, vase-shaped, very hardy shrub. Spreading canopy with feathery, fern-like, green foliage and small, pea-like, yellow blooms in late spring. Yellow fall colour; smooth, olive green bark. Great large size accent shrub. Heat, drought, salt and alkaline tolerant: does well in poor soil. Nitrogen fixing roots meaning they restore nitrogen from the air back into the soil. Fertilize in spring with an all purpose fertilizer before new growth emerges. Prune as necessary in late winter/early spring; suckers can be removed anytime.
